I am happy to have called London, Ontario home for a few years. While living here I pushed my painting style to a new place; meeting some fantastic community champions and establishing good company along the way. A true champion for the Hamilton Road community, Mike is the owner and operator of the Neighbourhood Laundromat. This is the coolest laundromat you’ve probably never been to; and you should change that. As far as I’m concerned, this lively place is the heart of the Hamilton Road corridor, offering a well equipped facility as an affordable solution to washing your clothes, and an opportunity to enjoy a delicious lunch from Arepa Ink, which operates out of a neat little kitchen in the back of the place.

The Neighbourhood Laundromat offers not only the service it is named for and the delicious food spot that is Arepa Ink, but is actually a progressive compound of sorts, consisting of multiple buildings including a consignment shop, which are all painted with creative murals and surround a funky courtyard that hosts all kinds of events; from local concerts to art and clothing pop-ups - it’s a special place.

Mike is a true lover of art and supporter of the artistic endeavours in his community. He has been kind enough to host the 8 paintings in the photo below, all of which will be available for purchase until the beginning of August 2022. If you are in London and with or without a washing machine, do yourself a favour and pop in for an arepa!
